Sometimes There Just Aren't Enough Rocks...

“Sometimes there just aren’t enough rocks…” Forrest Gump.

Isn’t that true? When we are in the deepest moment of “why mes” and “Go figures” and we are faced with either clutching the rocks protruding from the side of the steep mountain or letting go and tumbling into the dark crevices of the unknown; it never seems to fail that we run out of rocks. In the moments of our inability to see our way through it and we think we lack the rational to talk ourselves out of it, we seem to fall short of aspersions to cast.

We grab for anything that will save us from plummeting down our mountains. We cling to fleshy roots or thin brittle ledges while making deals and pleading for our souls. We’ve come face to face with the tipping point of surrendering, and even so, we make one last ditch effort to bargain for our salvation.

We do this because we fear the unknown. We fear the judgment of others, the lack of control, and the chaos that will inevitably ensue. The fear is real. Fear threatens our survival, our sanity, our existence, and our very livingness. We see it every day with people we meet. Fear is coveted by some, while shunned by others.

It is so easy to surrender to fear’s seductive nature. It is so insidious that most of the time we don’t even realize we are functioning in its clutches. One moment we are content in our lives, then the next we feel the strain of fear engorge our hearts, intruding the very sacred space we thought we had infused with confidence, gratitude, and love.

But what if we looked at fear differently? What if we approached fear with the belief that it is nothing more than…an annoying case of the hiccups? How fast the strangling hold of fear would lose its grasp in our lives. Amazingly enough...we can hold our breaths, and heal ourselves.

Really? All we have to do is hold our breath and change our life? Yes…it is a moment of interrupt—that’s all. It is changing our mind about what we see, how we react to the situation, and the willingness to let go.

Because if we take a second to see that somewhere in this instance of chaos there is perfect logic occurring, then we can identify the source of our fear and change our idea about it. Then, and only then, we can encapsulate the fear in Peace and Love.

Sometimes we are so buried in a situation that we can’t see a way out. We are so stuck in our disbelief that we need someone to plunge themselves up to their shoulder blades, into our deep dark sea of despondency and haul us out. And it’s in that desperate moment, when we think nobody’s willing to sacrifice themselves for us; that someone is there able to pull us out. It is that moment when we come to realize, they had been there the entire time, waiting for us to reach up. But we must be willing to grasp their hands. We must be ready to change the way we react to the situation.

I’ve stated it before; one of my most favorite quotes by Albert Einstein, “You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”

Are we trying to fix a situation using the same consciousness that put us in the muck and mire? Are we clinging to false hope that if we put our heads in the sand, the tidal wave won’t bowl us over?

Every day we wake up breathing, give thanks. Every day we have the ability to take up thy bed and walk, give gratitude, and every day we love someone and someone loves us back, celebrate it.

Then we will prove fear has no place in our lives. Then we will find the thick strong ledges of our mountain and then we will find out…we had a safety line attached around our bodies the entire time. We just had an annoying case of the hiccups.

What Floats Your Boat?

Sometimes it takes scraping across the deepest part of the ocean floor to really appreciate the wonders of its immense possibilities.

Now, I’m not suggesting you go drown yourself in the ocean to discover the answers to your life’s problems. However; the shock of the frothy freezing waves as they pummel you against the hard sandy beach, just might do the trick.

Because if the ocean, with all its undiscovered hidden treasures and rich abundant sea life, can rejuvenate and support itself so perfectly and with such ease, then why can’t we? What makes us so different than the ocean? Okay, so we don’t have crabs, or tuna swimming freely in the cavernous spaces of our bodies; but we do have the same capabilities as the ocean, in a metaphorical sense. Are we not controlled by the pull of the Sun and Moon? Is not our bodies made up of 97%....water? And do we give life and sustain life around us?

It isn’t the challenges of life that make it worth living; it is how we overcome them. It’s how we react to the swells of change and tides of fortune that make up who we are. We can fear the ocean’s enormity or we can be enamored by its elegance. The choice is ours.

Think about that for a moment…the ocean doesn’t care what we do with it. We can make electricity with it, we can swim in it, pee in it, surf it, take it in buckets and build sandcastles with it, or even sail ships upon it. The ocean doesn’t care because it doesn’t have to. It just is...

The ocean gives of itself without conditions, without fear, and without expecting anything back. WOW…can we say we do the same thing? Can we actually look at our potential, and say—“I give of myself without conditions, without fear, and without expecting anything back?” If you can honestly say you do, then by all means, walk upon the waters, calm the raging seas, and heal the masses of all their ills.

I’m not saying we can never do amazing things, I believe we all have the ability to obtain greatness; all I’m saying is it takes a lot of dedication and practice. We won’t wake up one day and be as open and fluidic as the ocean, but through changing our thoughts, changing the reactions to the world, and changing our dialogue, we can take a huge leap in the right direction.

It is what we do every day and how we feel while we are doing it, that either makes us limitless like the ocean or stagnant like a cesspool.

When undesirable situations come up, how do we react? Are we coming from a consciousness of peace, understanding and love? Or are we hostile, angry, and offended? When someone goes out of their way to help us, are we grateful? Or are we critical? Do we keep talking about the same worn out experiences and past events that evoke feelings of fear, doubt, jealousy, and pain? Or are we letting go of past mistakes and opening up to new possibilities?

Ultimately, if we are like the ocean, people’s limited ideas can’t define us, our possibilities are limitless, our conditions healed, and our worries dispersed in the vast nothingness from which they came.

It is up to us, as individuals to re-evaluate what is important to us, what rejuvenates and re-affirms our place in this world…it’s time to discover…what floats our boat!

You Are Worth It!

Guilt is such a fun sucker! I know I’ve been absent from blogging the last couple of weeks, and man do I feel it! I’ve been really working on finishing Wilson Mooney, Eighteen at Last. I promised my readers I would have the 2nd book in a series out before the end of 2012…what was I thinking?

So, something’s gotta give. Besides, my family has 3rd degree burns on their bums from hanging out on the back burner.

Why do we do that? Why do we end up treating strangers and acquaintances better than the people we love? Or for that matter, let’s look a little deeper…why do we keep putting everyone’s needs before our own?
When will we learn that if our needs aren’t addressed and tamed, we will eventually resent the needs of others? When will their needs ever be fulfilled? NEVER—every person in your life will always need something—always. Now, I’m not saying that it is a bad thing. As a matter of fact, it can make us feel accomplished, needed, desired, and wanted…But there is a delicate balance to the ying and yang of our lives.

Too often we find reasons we can’t have a weekend away, a new outfit, a pair of shoes, a special moment, or that completely useless item we desire. So often we will take the smallest helping at dinner so everyone else can be satisfied or forgo a day to ourselves because it feels we are taking from those we love.

Our fears of being selfish have been ingrained within us at a young age. “Don’t be so selfish!” or “Oh, you’re so stingy.” How about, “All you think about is yourself.” So we hear these things as kids and young adults, and eventually we embody them as our own personal devils on our shoulders. We learn that we must sacrifice or give up in order to be loved or worthy. God forbid, we grow up selfish…

Let me say it again…there is a delicate, fluidic balance between the ying and yang or the cause and effect of your life. I’m not saying, go out neglect your family, take all you can get, or become a selfish person. What I am saying is there comes a point in your life where you must pull your nose from the grindstone of life and re-evaluate how you are treating yourself. Are you putting everyone needs before your own? Are you pleasing the people around you without consideration to your own needs?

How harmful would it really be if you took the time for a bubble bath instead of a shower? Would the world fall off its axis if you actually went to lunch with a friend instead of making sure your family’s laundry was all done?

If we keep looking for excuses to be a martyr, people and events will provide them.

When will we learn, by refreshing our lives—by taking a moment to recharge, we enhance the lives of people around us? It’s not worth the “crash and burn” mentality we’ve created by feeling guilty for making time for ourselves.

Stop feeling guilty for paying yourself in personal moments. Take time to listen to the still small voice within you that’s screaming to experience life. I’m telling you it is okay, because you deserve it.

Did you hear me? YOU DESERVE IT!

You will relate to your loved ones with a whole new attitude. You will start to feel your worthiness and it will penetrate you to your core and radiate out to the world. You are worthy. There is no guilt, no pain, or desertion when investing in YOU: whether it is fiscally, emotionally, or spiritually.

When was the last time you invested in yourself? It’s time to re-invest in what makes you feel glorious again.

Sit Silently and Meditate for Peace

So I’ve been really embracing the idea of taking a moment during the day and spending 10 minutes in silence. For me it’s been about taking a moment to listen and connect to that inner voice waiting to enlighten me and reveal what my purpose is. Sometimes trying to listen to my intuition is like standing in the median of the freeway, and other times it is like standing in a pitch-black room listening to the inner vibe that lulls me into becoming silent.

Sometimes I’m successful at learning what I must do in order to overcome or move from a difficult situation or problem and sometimes I can’t see the forest through the trees. Either way, I’ve got to remember that it is okay. It’s okay to close my eyes for 10 minutes and focus on my purpose or spend that time falling asleep.

It isn’t about guilt or judgment. It isn’t about giving up because my mind wonders off to what I have to do, what I need to get at the grocery store, or what bills I have to pay this week. Sometimes those come to mind because those are things I must learn to dismiss from my crowded mind in order to become still and know my source. In order to find my purpose, sometimes I have to wade through the purpose-less muck of the day.

When I first started meditating or sitting in silence, I would find myself struggling to silence my mind. I would force my eyes closed so tight, that I would see spots. Sometimes I would have to say positive affirmations out loud so I could keep the negative thoughts from flooding my mind. Sometimes the ruckus of life outside my door would be my excuse not to, “become still and know.”

But in time I’ve come to understand that when I actually find the 10 minutes to meditate or go within all I am doing is bringing my consciousness back to its natural state. Peace, Harmony, Joy, Abundance, and Love are all states of consciousness that we are innately attuned to. That is why when we are living in anything different than Love, Happiness, Peace, Freedom, Joy, and (any other state of mind that brings you to center) we manifest disease, disharmony, war, poverty, and anything else that is less than.

It was Albert Einstein, who said, “We can never solve a problem, with the same consciousness that created it.”

How profound is that? Really! We can’t become free if we keep thinking of bondage; we can’t be abundant if we keep coming from lack. We can’t have peace, if we keep instilling fear.

How powerful would the human race be if everyone took 10 minutes of their day and sat in Peace, Love, Harmony, Freedom, and Abundance? How many wars could we end? How many hungry could we feed? We could obliterate poverty from this planet if we started looking at each other as expressions of love, peace, and harmony.

Too Pollyanna for you? Then just think about this way…how do you feel when someone lends you a hand without expecting anything in return? How do you feel when someone pays your bridge toll, buys you a cup of coffee, pays for dinner? Babysits your kids for free? Or helps you clean your house? These acts of servitude evokes within us Peace, Love, Happiness, and Gratitude right? Now apply that to everyone you meet; no matter race, religion, spiritual beliefs, political party, or sexual orientation; no matter what!

What if we decided to spend just one day of our lives in total gratitude and another in total servitude? How could war be sustained? Hunger would cease to exist and the world couldn’t stay the same state of disharmony.

Life is meant to be lived in its highest and best potential…no matter what the realization of that potential is. So at what point did we forget our capacity of being or becoming something greater?

Thank you for sticking around and reading my ramblings.

Oh and hey, did you know that takes fewer muscles in your face to smile than to frown?

Is Success a Coincidence or More Than That?

How often do we have great events occur in our lives only to chalk them up to coincidences or luck? We make excuses for the abundance that shows up in our lives and pander to the negative naysayers because we think it’s what society would want us to do. When will we come to realize, demonstrations ensue because we’ve stated or spoken our Word, and the Universe acted upon It?

We have the ability to be great, abundant, peaceful, educated, teachable, joy-filled, loving expressions of life. We contain the road map to inner peace, within our hearts; all we have to do is learn to read the legend. We must learn how to become still and listen; we must wake up to our potential and we must believe, embody, and come from Unconditional Love.

There is a Power greater than we are that knows what to do and how to do it. All we have to do is be open to accept It. When we begin to pay attention to the thoughts we think and the words that we utter, we start to see why our lives are the way they are. How many times a day are we saying, “I don’t have enough…” and add words like, money, time, or energy?” or we say, “I am,” and add something negative behind it. Or even, “I don’t know how I’m going to…” and follow it with something limiting? Let me just say right now, I believe there is more than enough for everyone. MORE THAN ENOUGH! There is plenty of time, money, resources, love, energy, joy, happiness and peace in this world!

It is time to wake up to the wonders of the Universe. If a sperm and an egg can unite and nine months later became you, then anything is possible! When life decided to express itself, it knew where to put our feet, eyes, fingers and brain. This viable energy knew what to do and how to do it! WE DIDN’T HAVE TO DO—ANYTHING! We didn’t have to think about it, we didn’t have to mingle or muck it up. We didn’t have to make it happen or try and figure out how it was going to be done. There was no conscious decision on our part; all we had to know was that life was being created.

It is the same in every aspect of our lives. We don’t need to know how something’s going to happen; we just need to know right and perfect action is taking place. We don’t go to the car mechanic and ask him how he fixed our car, we just know he did it and it works. We don’t go to an electrician and ask him to explain how electricity is harnessed and brought to our homes, he does his job and we benefit from his knowledge. Why is it any different with our lives?

I know there is a power greater than me that wants to give me the kingdom. It wants to express life through me so much it gives me whatever I ask for, whatever words tumble from my mouth and whatever thoughts roll around in my head.

Therefore, I can look at my life and see exactly what my focus has been. We all can…If I’m tired all the time; I need to stop bellyaching about being tired. If my finances are tight, I’ve gotta re-evaluate what my views are of the economy, my bank account or job situation? I have to ask myself, have I bought into the fear of lack? Have I fallen into the Pandora’s Box of…there isn’t enough to go around?

I know that when my thoughts are focused on the lack of anything in my life, it shows up. When my thinking or words are about anything less than—I can watch my world begin to dry up and close in around me. A vicious cycle begins and I play right into it. I stop giving, I stop helping, and I become this meager thinker about life. I begin to think about who has more, I question how they are able to afford such nice things, and I feel myself starting to resent people for being successful.

Well guess what? Prosperity begets prosperity; peace grows peace, love blooms love and so forth. The minute we stop and change our approach to life, life changes its approach to us. That’s how life works. So in learning that, now when I see someone who is successful, talented, bright, and filled with peace, I celebrate them. I don’t question how they did it; I don’t resent them for what they have or how they are doing. I genuinely celebrate them and wish them more success and happiness. Because I know what you put out into the world comes right back at you; YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW. I know that I want my life to flourish with prosperity, peace, love, happiness and freedom.

With everything I am, I totally believe we can change our world and our lives by changing our thinking…one thought at a time!

What is Our Purpose?

What is our purpose? Why are we doing…what it is that we’re doing? Is it a burning passion, a deep seeded obsession, maybe it’s a gripping vice, or as simple as a convenient habit? I’m not talking about what we do for a living, our jobs or hobbies…I’m talking about that unwavering intention we can’t seem to shake from our souls. No matter what happens around us, we can’t stop thinking about it; we can’t stop feeling the need to move toward the light of its discovery.

Whether it’s painting, writing, raising our children, or feeding the hungry, what motivates us to drag our battered bones across the finish line? Is it self-preservation or just plain ego? Or does it even matter?

We all come into this world as intention that grows within the womb of possibility. We are the ones that think the thoughts that birth the realities within our lives. It’s our swirling ideas that we allow to setup shop in our consciousness that creates our heavenly or hellish experience. It is the stories we cling to until our knuckles turn white or the superstitions we embody in order to keep people from knowing who we truly are, that create our bondage.

More times than not we’ve twisted conversations into “poor me-s” and “look at how bad I have it-s” in order to feel important, accepted, or empowered. We lost sight of our purpose before we even had a chance to realize we had the power to discover what our purpose was.

How fast the world would change if we came from the unconditional love within our hearts and true forgiveness when someone has forsaken us. Let’s face it, in order to love the world we must first love our place in it. We can’t embody peace if we are always walking around pissed off at the cat for scratching the couch or the kids for spilling red sport drinks on the cream carpet. We can’t come from happiness if we keep posting on the internet about someone who has hurt us. What stories are we fostering? What words and thoughts are we using to create our realities?

You see…in order for us to truly be free in this world, we must learn to live in freedom. In order to feel love we must come from love. We want closer friendships, so we must begin by being a close friend. Open our hearts and feel the greatness within every person we come across. If we need to change our financial situation—start by giving. Prosperity begets prosperous actions. Give first and all else shall be add upon you. Ask and you will receive, Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will opened.

The Universe is reciprocal; we see it in nature; the changing seasons, the rotation of the planets, and the life cycles of all living things. What goes around comes around in every aspect of existence. Whether we are talking man made experiences or natural phenomenon, life always finds a way to constantly produce. Purpose is the driving force in nature and everything has a purpose.

When we realize that there is something creative within us waiting for our discovery of it, life opens up and shows us the way. Unfortunately, most of us are too busy living in fear and listening to self-judgment. We are too caught up in believing we aren’t worthy or good enough. But once we move from that place of race consciousness or worldly beliefs, and we take a moment to silence our minds, we will realize our purpose has always been waiting patiently to be discovered.

Thanks for reading my ramblings…I am truly grateful for your visit!

Where is Your Focus?

There are times when I find myself down; crouching and wallowing in the puddle of my own self pity. Oh, hell, sometimes I even strip down to my skivvies and swim in the rubbish. I’ve even been known to persuade people to take a dip with me. Cuz who wants to swim in “that” alone…right?

Whenever I come from fear, the Universe, which ALWAYS agrees with me, will make sure I have all the things I fear. If I come from lack, Infinite Intelligence will make sure I have situations where I will be lacking something; whether it’s in my finances, my relationships, or my time.

It is the prime example of the simple principle; “what you focus on grows.” Think about it. How many times have you seen a car you really liked, and then instantly you notice them everywhere you go? It isn’t that suddenly there’s hundreds more out there. It isn’t that at all—what’s happened is you’ve suddenly become aware of it. You’ve recognized something that was always there. You’ve named and claimed it, so it showed up. So it is with everything you give thought to in your life.

Remember back in January when I wrote about the difference between hope and expectation? Hope is when you wish for something to happen, and expectation is when you know it is already done. There is a huge lesson in faith in that statement. Just as there are people who attract chaos in their life, so are there people who bring peace to the world around them. One of the biggest differences between the two types of people is their expectations. If we move through our lives, expecting to be broke, expecting to fight with people, and to be victimized; then guess what? That’s exactly what we’ll get.

If we swim in the muck of discontent, hate, fear, lack, judgment, and disease that’s exactly what’s going to show up in our lives. If we decide to stop hanging in the pool of negativity, we will instantaneously affect the outcome of our lives. The second we give up our stories and wash off the grime of conditional thinking, the outcome of our lives will change. It can’t help but change because it is steeped in the principle of Cause and Effect. What you put out into the world always comes back. You reap what you sow; we all can relate to that…right?

So why are we always shocked when something happens that we expected? Good, bad or indifferent? It isn’t magic or miracles…it is the Universe responding to your demands.

When we recognize that we must change something in our lives or we see what we are doing isn’t working, and we decide to be the change we want to see in the world, the Universe must respond to us instantaneously. It can’t help it, that’s its nature.

Jesus told us, “Do not imitate the way of this world, but be transformed by the renewing or your minds...” Gandhi recognized it in 1913, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Buddha claimed it when he said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” The Dalai Lama knew it when he stated, “We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” Dr. Ernest Holmes states it perfectly, “The thing that stands between you and the greater good is a thing of thought and nothing else. It is not Reality that you must change, but your mental reaction to It.”

If these spiritual teachers can speak to our souls, then who are we not turn our ears and listen? Isn’t it time we take up their words, embody the change we want to see in our lives, and become the ambassadors for peace in our world—one thought at a time?

Thanks for hanging out and reading my ramblin’s and Happy Memorial Day!

Living in the Moment

Do you remember thinking the world stopped when you weren’t there to experience it? When I was a child, I thought the moment I left—people froze until I met up with them again. There was nothing that occurred outside of my reality—if I didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. I remember, at a fairly young age, when I came to the realization that people didn’t freeze when I wasn’t there to experience them. Needless to say, it was a real hard pill to swallow, when I saw that their life kept on truckin’ along without me.

Fortunately, we are not the same small child that couldn’t comprehend time, or the adolescent that couldn’t wait to grow up. We’ve changed, evolved, expanded our lives, and unfortunately, when the time came, we got sucked right into the race-consciousness of our culture. The world told us there was more to life then kitty cat whiskers and puppy dog tails. Suddenly, we were conditioned to believe that, we can’t have what we want, we will never get it, we can’t afford it, stop dreaming about it, and by all means, don’t be so selfish to ask for it…the list goes on and on. We began to believe that we were separate from life; that thoughts and things were two separate ideas.

But isn’t it interesting that when we were born into this world we were totally reliant upon the giving, caring, and love of others? We couldn’t do anything for ourselves and yet we somehow were able to express our needs. As we grew we learned to ask for what we wanted. We, as children, expected our every need to be met. There was no fear of lack…lack of love, joy, peace, abundance, or contentment. We had no clue that there was a process that must happen in order for us to have the food in our bellies, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads, and love in our hearts. It just was. We somehow had the consciousness of living in the moment, without even knowing it. There was no idea of doubt, fear, or lack; we only had to be.

Then as adolescents we were taught that the world doesn’t revolve around us. Society conditioned us to stop asking for so much. Society dictated to us that we shouldn’t have such high expectations. Only a few get to experience true success, love, joy, prosperity, and inner peace. The rest of us must spend our lives struggling to figure out how to get it.

Let’s face it; every day we are told to ask for less. We are bombarded with news of lack, fear, doubt, limitations. We let the hook of desperation catch in our mouths and we let the pole of race consciousness just reel us in. We’re pulled out of life, out of our unlimited possibilities, only to be drowned in the bloated nothingness of limited ideas and unfulfilled definitions. Who says we must conform to the world?

“Do not imitate the way of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”*

It is our birthright to be happy, prosperous, joy-filled, and peaceful. We are designed to experience life, love unconditionally, and serve with gratitude. How amazing would it be if we gave up our old stories of lack, hate, fear, doubt, and jealousy and decided to originate new stories of love, joy, understanding, and peace? Absolutely nothing would restrain the infinite possibilities bursting from our spiritual understanding. You are a gift to this world; the same greatness that resides in the enlightened, awaits you to discover it within youself.

Give up the same ol’ story and create a better one. We are the keepers of our dreams; dare to dust them off, and place them on the shelf of self-discovery. It isn’t the labor of planting the seed that’s hard, it’s not digging it up to see if it’s conspiring to germinate and grow. There is a power in the Universe that knows what to do and how to do it. From an acorn, grows an oak tree, from a tulip bulb, a tulip grows, it doesn’t need our help to realize its potential. We must plant our seeds of genius, and then leave them alone to grow.

Thanks for hanging out and reading my ramblings!

Warning, Rapids Ahead!

Life is fluidic. It ebbs and it flows. It crashes against the rocks of uncertainty and laps on the sands of total faith. Some days we can stand in the light of discovery and bathe in complete understanding of our place in the Universe. While, other days we may find ourselves wallowing in the sewage of race consciousness.

Either way, we toss our oars into the river of life and start paddling against the rapids of self pity, judgment, and negative thoughts. Fortunately, we’ve decided to wear a life jacket.

Isn’t it ironic that we begin our journey in the calm waters of serenity, discovery, and peace? We contently float along the shallow river waters, basking in the sun as it soaks into our skin and we listen to the quiet rustling of the leaves cheering us on. But before long, we become restless; suddenly the sun seems too hot, and the leaves are too noisy. We come to realize that we are only content long enough to become bored with our journey.

We watch tons of people paddle past us and wonder if they might know something we don’t. Maybe we notice that the people in the other rafts seem to have the courage to face the raging rapids that swirl so violently ahead. We see others go before us and decide, even though we might be fearful, we will follow them on their journey.

But as we look at the river ahead we see some rafts have over-turned, while others are getting caught in a current that keeps them fighting the same swell over and over again. We notice others are successfully navigating the rapids, and some are ahead in the calm water. Fear bubbles in the back of our throats and for a timeless moment we wonder if we made the right choice?

Well what is choice but the use of our personal power to choose? There is nothing magical about it. It is engrained in our nature just as blinking, swallowing and breathing is. We have volition, and that is what separates us from the animals. We can make a choice and if it isn’t what we expected or wanted…guess what??? We can change our mind, and make a choice to do something different.

Grant it, when we enter the rapids of our lives, sometimes we will have to live with the consequences. Rafts may over-turn, we may temporarily get stuck in a vortex; but even then, we have the choice of how we react to the circumstances.

It is our fears and lack of faith that makes us feel we are stuck into whatever experience we’ve decided to own. Maybe we’re too scared so we decide to sit in the raft that is stuck swirling in the rapids, or we get tossed from the raft and feel the rocks scrape against our skin and we fight to survive the raging undertow as it is trying to bury us in its fury. OR maybe we decide to skillfully navigate the flow of the river and steer the raft through the rough waters with little or no drama.

It is our choice…we’ve all been in a raft stuck in the middle of the rapids, screaming for someone to save us, and we’ve all been in a raft that makes it through as we stare back wondering how in the hell did we make it through.

There is no shame in being stuck or battered against the river’s bottom. It is life, it is our humanness. BUT (you knew that was coming), it is the way we choose to react once we hit that river’s bottom, that dictates what happens next. Either we will decide to stay down there or we will decide to push off the mud and rocks and live. It is entirely up to us.

We ALWAYS have a choice.

We must never forget that we were designed to express a life filled with Love, Joy, Abundance and Peace. We are so much stronger than we think, we are more creative than we ever give ourselves credit for, and more than anything, we deserve to be completely and totally happy.

Thanks for hanging out and reading my ramblings.
